G-Force Releases Static Wick for helis to control unwanted static
Static wicks are not new but very common on airplanes for discharging excessive static into the atmosphere. During
flight, an aircraft can accumulate electrical charges from air friction
and these charges will eventually discharge causing radio interference. Static wicks allow static charges release quickly before it is built up to a dangerous level.
The
G-Force Static Wick (Part #GFA7088) is designed for RC helis to control
static generated by a belt driven tail system and the rotation of the
tail blades. Static is more noticeable in dry weather or winter conditions. If
you are using a FM system, you could glitch continuously from static,
but with the new 2.4GHz systems, a lockout could result from enough
static interference.
The
G-Force Static Wick works on all size helis and is designed like the
full size system to discharge static quickly, reducing static
interference.
